11 Signs You Might Change The World

11 Signs You Might Change The World

Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. – Harriet Tubman

Too many people believe that they have no power and can’t make a difference in this world. YOU, however, are different. Something inside you knows that you can make a significant contribution to the world. If you didn’t know this on some level, you wouldn’t be reading this article.

So give yourself a pat on the back for having the desire to impact the world. In this article I’ll share 11 signs that you’re capable of changing the world. Now, let’s get started.

1) You refuse the status quo

Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For, indeed, that’s all who ever have. – Margaret Mead

Most people believe that things can’t be changed, but you think that’s silly. You know very well that drastic changes are possible, and that they have occurred repeatedly over the course of history. When it comes to what is and isn’t possible, you don’t buy into all the nonsense that friends, family, the media, and society as a whole may tell you.

They can believe whatever they want, but it doesn’t change a damn thing for you. You’re totally ready to challenge the status quo and fly in the face of any belief that doesn’t make sense to you. You apply this attitude to everything, regardless of how long it has been around.

2) You share, share, and share again

If you take one of these little books I suggested home and it affects you, pass it along, say: “Hey, I found a book really help me, I found a book got me thinking, I found a book changed my health, I found a book got me inspired”. Pass it along, pass it along, pass it along!. – Jim Rohn

Each time you come across a piece of information that could help someone you know, you immediately share it with them. You want everyone you encounter in your life to grow and reach their full potential. You never miss an opportunity to share a book, movie, song, or article with someone you think could benefit from it. If you know something could have a tremendous impact on another person’s life, you want to make sure that they have a chance to access it. You’re constantly looking for ways to help those around you.

3) You have a deep understanding of what the phrase “know thyself” means

Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself. – Leo Tolstoy

You fully grasp the importance of self-awareness and devote a considerable amount of time to introspection. Every emotion you feel is an opportunity for you to learn more about yourself and grow. When you get defensive or angry, you ask yourself why. You know that defensiveness is a sign that you’re fighting to protect a certain idea of yourself and is simply a product of your ego.

You want to act from place of love, which involves working to see through your ego and false ideas you have about yourself. You know that changing the world means increasing your self-awareness and breaking free of limiting beliefs and social conditioning. In short, you know that the real battle takes place within you, not outside of you.

4) You look at yourself as a role model

The true test of a man’s character is what he does when no one is watching. – John Wooden

You understand that everything you say and do has a direct impact on those around you. You also realize that this makes you a role model. You know that the most powerful way to change people is to change yourself, and you strive to set an example.

You’re crystal clear about what your core values are and, as a result, you know what you stand for. As such, you don’t succumb to any negative influences that enter your life via the people that surround you. Instead, you’re the one who influences them, and you make sure to do it in a positive way.

5) You’re addicted to growth

Learn to work harder on yourself than you do on your job. If you work hard on your job you’ll make a living, if you work hard on yourself you can make a fortune. – Jim Rohn

While most of your friends stopped studying after the moment they finish high school or college, these things were merely an appetizer for you. You love to discover new things and know that you’ll continue to learn more until your last breath. You want to become better at everything you do and are obsessed with improvement. You’re also extremely curious and always open to learning new things, even if it means questioning your belief system.

6) You prefer action over mental masturbation

Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world. – Joel A. Barker

You aren’t interested in mental masturbation or in bragging about how knowledgeable you are. Your interest centers upon making things happen and having impact on other people’s lives. The last thing you want to do is hear people’s stories about what they’ll do someday in the future. This is because you’re result-oriented and fully realize that actions speak much louder than words.

7) You take radical responsibility for everything in your life

You take your life in your own hands, and what happens? A terrible thing, no one to blame. – Erica Jong

You don’t bullshit yourself about why you can’t do something. You’re brutally honest with yourself and take responsibility for every aspect of your life, be it relationships, finances, or your own happiness. You understand that the world around you is largely a reflection of what’s inside you.

As such, you make the internal changes that are necessary to create the results you want. For you, playing the victim is unacceptable, as it would mean giving your power away to circumstances or past events. The past has no bearing on the future, and you realize that, if you want to become your best self, all excuses must be thrown away.

8) Traditional jobs aren’t for you, you’re on a mission!

The trouble with being in the rat race is that even if you win, you’re still a rat. – Lily Tomlin

Many people convince themselves that they’re content to muddle through a 9-5 job that they hate, but you know better. You may not be able to quit your job tomorrow, but you’re working on things that will lead you to something better.

You start your mornings eager to work on your goals and pursue your mission. Your passion might even make it hard to get to bed at night. The idea of spending your weekdays focused solely on an unfulfilling job so you can have a little bit of fun over the weekend is unbearable, no matter how many people do it. Your primary concern is pursuing your mission and reaching your goals. Period!

9) You think BIG (but nobody knows this)

Every great dream begins with a perspective; change the world with the power and strength within you” ― Kamal Khanzada

You have outrageously ambitious goals. You share a portion of with your friends, family, or co-workers, but some of your goals are so massive that you prefer to keep them to yourself. There is no point talking about these ridiculously massive goals, because you wouldn’t get anything out of doing so. If you told anyone about them they would just think you’re crazy. And, from their perspective, you are.

To say you think big would be one of this year’s biggest understatements. While a lot of people get caught up in gossip and excessive amounts of leisure activities, you spend your days focused on how to make a positive impact on the world. What’s more, your ultimate vision goes beyond religions, countries, and political parties… it includes everyone!

10) You don’t tolerate divisions

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

You categorically refuse to discriminate based on race, gender, culture, age, religion, or anything else along those lines. You completely reject the idea of divisions based on these things. You’re never against something you despise, but rather, you’re for something that you believe in. You aren’t against war but for peace.

Being “for” something allows you to focus on bringing people together rather than creating more divisions in the world. People who spend most of their time fighting against something put their focus on the very thing they are trying to avoid, often antagonizing other people and potentially inciting major conflicts. That, to you, is completely unacceptable.

You aren’t keen on over-identifying with your culture, political party, community, or even your country. When you do identify with them, it is always with great detachment. By maintaining a low level of attachment to the groups that you belong to, you remain incorruptible. You avoid having any vested interested that could cloud your judgment.

11) You fully align yourself with reality

Change the changeable, accept the unchangeable, and remove yourself from the unacceptable. -Denis Waitley

Although you have ridiculously ambitious goals, you certainly aren’t a hippie. You aren’t trying to escape reality or feel good about yourself by creating a new identity or living with your head in the clouds. On the contrary, you fully embrace reality and constantly work on aligning yourself with the reality of your choosing through a constant process of trial and error.

You focus on what works because you want results. You also spend a lot of time studying human psychology. This allows you to accept the fact that most people are unwilling to change. As a result, you know that you have to change yourself first.

How about you? Do you believe you can change the world? Do you think you could have an impact on the lives of thousands or even millions of people around the globe?
